Samsung has an array of great smartphones spanning all the price ranges. While the mid-range can be a bit tricky, the Samsung Galaxy F42 5G has managed it pretty nicely I’d say, and I’ll talk about the reasons that you should consider to buy this phone. Firstly, the smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC. Paired with the 6GB and 8GB RAM variants, the device also comes with 128GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded up to 1000GB via microSD card with a dedicated slot. The smartphone runs One UI 3.1 is based on Android 11.

In terms of build and display, the Galaxy F42 5G features a 6.6-inch full-HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a waterdrop-style notch. The display looks vibrant and impressive and it’s easy to handle as well. The smartphone is not too bulky at all and measures 167.20 x 76.40 x 9.00mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 203.00 grams. The bulk of the weight is due to the massive 5000mAh battery which claims to deliver a fast charging experience when using the bundled 15W charger. I think the battery is one of the best features in this smartphone behind the camera section.

Samsung Galaxy F42 5G is available in two distinct colour options of Matte Aqua and Matte Black. The smartphone houses triple rear cameras headlined by a 64-megapixel primary sensor. This is then followed by a 5-megapixel ultra-wide shooter and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The rear camera setup also supports a variety of modes, including Hyperlapse, Slow Motion, Food Mode, Night Mode, Panorama, and Pro Mode. For selfies and video chats, the Samsung Galaxy F42 5G carries an 8-megapixel selfie camera sensor at the front.

The pricing and specifications of the Samsung Galaxy F42 5G brings it against the likes of the iQoo Z3, Motorola Edge 20 Fusion, and the Realme X7 5G. There are a number of connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Galaxy F42 5G also comes with sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, magnetometer, and a proximity sensor. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Additionally, the phone includes Dolby Atmos support to deliver an immersive sound experience over wired and Bluetooth headphones.
